THE POETORIUM AT STARLITE

Welcome to our new monthly open mic and featured poetry reading series The Poetorium at Starlite hosted by Paul Szlosek and Ron Whittle which made its debut on May 28th, 2019It is a full evening of poetry and spoken word starting with a brief interview on stage with the night’s featured poet, followed by a reading by the feature, a 10 minute tribute to a dead poet by a guest reader, a short intermission, and then the open mic (with a 5 minute limit for each reader).

Poets, writers, and artists are invited to sell their wares during the show totally free of charge. A limited number of tables are available to vendors on a first come, first serve basis and must be set up between 5:30pm to 6:30pm (no sooner, no later).

Due to the pandemic, all Poetorium at Starlite shows for the foreseeable future has been cancelled. However as an alternative, since March 2020, we have attempted to simulate what they would have been like in a Virtual Poetorium in transcript form posted on this website for all to enjoy.   1. It should be noted that Paul and I featured in the National Beat Poetry Foundation Inc. in New Hartford, Ct. June 1st 2019 and love to have some of the open mic-ers come up to our show.

  2. I have become acquainted Paul and Ron from many shared venues in central and western MA.
    I have not yet, but definately will be checking out the Poetorum.
    I look forward to experiencing the synergy of this dynamic venture.

  3. I asked Arthur today “Why is taking part in the Poetorium so much fun!!!! Its more fun than just about any other activity/group I belong to. Thanks to both of you for your work and uplifting spirit. Being a part of Poetorium is a great joy for us.
