ADMISSION: FREE (BUT A HAT WILL BE PASSED TO PAY OUR FEATURE AND COMPENSATE THE STARLITE FOR THE USE OF THEIR SPACE)

After over two years of being on hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are proud to announce the return of our monthly open mic and featured poetry reading series, The Poetorium at Starlite (which made its debut on May 28th, 2019), hosted by Paul Szlosek and Ron Whittle on the Last Thursday of Each Month from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm. It is a full evening of live poetry and spoken word starting with a brief interview on stage with the night’s featured poets,  followed by a reading by our features, a  5-10 minute tribute to a dead poet by a guest reader, a short intermission, and then the open mic (with a 5-minute limit for each reader).

Poets, writers, and artists are invited to sell their wares during the show totally free of charge. Space on a limited number of tables is available to vendors on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Our Next Official Poetorium Will Be A  Special Double Feature With John Hodgen (Author of The Lord of Everything & What We May Be) & Karen Elizabeth Sharpe (Author of Prayer Can Be Anything & This Late Afternoon) on Thursday, May 2nd, 2024 (Postponed From Its Originally Scheduled Date of April 25th)

  1. It should be noted that Paul and I featured in the National Beat Poetry Foundation Inc. in New Hartford, Ct. June 1st 2019 and love to have some of the open mic-ers come up to our show.

  2. I have become acquainted Paul and Ron from many shared venues in central and western MA.
    I have not yet, but definately will be checking out the Poetorum.
    I look forward to experiencing the synergy of this dynamic venture.

  5. SO CLOSE AND YET SO FAR AWAY…:( TOO BAD I’VE NEITHER WHEELS OR THE ABILITY TO DRIVE ANYMORE! I KNOW PAUL’S NAME BECAUSE I REGULARLY REPOST HIS STUFF ON MY BLOG. THIS SIMPLE LITTLE LIMERICK WRITER THINKS THIS GATHERING IS A FINE THING, INDEED!
